Sacred Spring Time 2026

Where ever you are, whatever your state of body and mind, spring time is generally a good time to “cleanse”.

How do we cleanse and how do we cleans well?

I think of cleansing like an oil change to a car, purge the old dirty oil, and replace with fresh clear oil. The maintenance helps the car last longer. Ideally we humans have a similar process for us to “last longer” and “last well”. It’s called Pancha Karma and it is something that has been practiced in India for many generations.

There is a lot of information out on the Internet, YouTube, etc. I’m not sure how concise it is, and I think there may be a lot of different opinions and approaches to this. In general, a Pancha Karma, takes some preparation.

As a westerner, I was exposed to this information in 2009 while going through my Ayurvedic training. I had my first experience of Pancha Karma in 2010. I did a five day “PK”(Pancha Karma). A year or two later I did a three day PK. Sometimes I have done a one day.

In India it is typical that a Pancha Karma can be 30 days. It is intended to be done as a personal retreat.

In our modern western world it seems unpractical to take so much time off for such a thing, but I am grateful this exists and I have heard of some interesting transformations in this practice.

I’m now officially offering Pancha Karma treatments and bodywork. Pancha Karma can be dramatic and creating a “healing crisis” if not prepared well.

If you’re curious about this work, schedule a pulse consultation. It is something we would plan together.

What Happened? 2024

I didn’t post. I stayed internal yet again. It was year of the Dragon and although I’m not one to follow astrology, however I find myself around folks talking about it more and more so I’m learning a bit. I also love Feng Shui and discovered Marie Diamond a few years back. My mother is from Japan and growing up, she would celebrate the new years with Japanese or Chinese astrology which seems appropriate for me to pay attention to and learn more of now.

Year of the dragon was full of intensity and conflicts globally and personally. If you show up for your life in whatever is coming up for you, see it as an opportunity to do some inner work. That’s what I think anyway.

Love

When feeling emptiness, anxiety or any stressful emotions, love can feel far away. This is when its time to pause, breathe and focus on the breath until a sense of calm can return. Practice patience and remember to love yourself. You’re worth it!

Make a Difference Monday’s

Last year, I did a short series of wellness classes called “Make a Difference Monday’s”

Its intention was to inspire healthy wellness practices for people.  It was a donation based class and when the idea came forward so did the fires up in Northern California. I decided this money would be “paid forward” to someone in need.

A dear practitioner named Stacey Pfiefer, nearly lost her home in Middletown, California. She managed to get out with her cat when evacuation calls were happening. Flames seemed to engulf the whole area as she looked back. It was a couple of weeks before she could return, and she was lucky her home still stood, but so many around her had fallen.

She offered bodywork for free when she could to help those around her who lost so much.

The donations from “Make a Difference Monday’s” went to Stacey Pfiefer, and she paid it forward to someone in need, who also does good work in the world.

Thank you to all of you who were able to make it and who contributed to this short series. Your attendance made it possible for me to stay inspired in this wellness work I love, and Stacey and her client also send their gratitude for the contributions made.  Namaste!

Make A Difference Monday’s

Starting this fall, I will be hosting a Monday’s series of Self-Care classes at Christie & Co in Pleasant Hill. Make A Difference Monday’s is all about making a difference at a deeper level for personal growth.  Its intent is to inspire healthy habits for a sense of peace within.  As we give ourselves internal space, we create our own opportunities to make a difference on the outside. The focus will be on a variety of self-care tools. These tools will motivate us in staying centered, focused and clear.
